16 to 19 Tuition Funding Statement for 2022/23
The 16 to 19 Tuition Fund is planned to be used in the following way:
The fund will primarily be used to provide small group tuition for sixth form students who have not yet achieved a grade 4 or above in English and/or Maths. However, the provision will not be limited to tuition for English and Maths, it will also be used to help students progress on to successful destinations, supporting them as we move beyond the pandemic and towards exams.
Students with special educational needs and disabilities as well as those from disadvantaged background, who require additional tuition to help them catch up with their studies, will also be supported by this provision.
The tuition sessions will be scheduled in addition to the planned programme of study for the students. Tuition and additional support may be delivered using a blend of online and in-school delivery. Tuition support offered will be based on an individual needs’ assessment, examples of some of the Tuition Support we will offer include:
• GCSE re-sit preparation
• CEIAG
• Academic mentoring
• Subject specific support
• Study skills
The impact of these sessions will be monitored based on student performance and progress
in their courses and their preparation for and confidence in applying to future destinations,
including higher education, employment and apprenticeships.
