Behaviour Support Worker
This post is term time only (35 hrs per week x 38 weeks) (Pay award pending).
H4-H5 (6-14) Actual Salary £18,128 – £20,850
This is a new role to St Mary’s. The role involves running courses for students to develop their skills in resilience, self-confidence and positive learning behaviours, as well as responding to ‘On Calls’ to assist staff with in-lesson behaviour and being a presence around school. The successful candidate will be joining an established team (the Behaviour Lead and the other Behaviour Support Worker) and receive training for the role.
Ideally, you will have experience of working with young people, supporting them and bringing out their best qualities to benefit their learning.
There is a requirement for awareness of the need to work at all times to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
Applicants do not need to be practising Christians, but would be expected to uphold our Christian principles of trust, forgiveness, compassion, thankfulness, friendship and love.
Please note that safeguarding students of the School is a priority. All appointments to posts in the School are made through stringent adherence to the requirements of ‘Keeping Children safe in Education’. As there is a high degree of contact with children an enhanced disclosure will be sought for this post through the Criminal Records Bureau as part of pre-employment checks.
The Governors of St Mary’s will make an additional recruitment payment to the appointed candidate if they apply direct to the school (i.e. not through an agency/third party).
