STUDENTS WILL NEED

Students will need to achieve recommended entry requirements for Academic or Professional pathway, plus subject specific requirements of:
Grade 4 in English Language or English Literature. Students with a Grade 5/6 in English and a Grade 5 or above in another literacy based course will be well places to succeed

STUDENTS WILL STUDY

Component 1: Media Messages: News, magazines, advertising and marketing and music videos Component 2: Evolving Media: Long form TV Drama, film, computer games, radio
Component 3: NEA- Learners will create a cross- media product in response to an OCR set brief.

ASSESSMENT

Unit one. 2 hour exam. 70 marks. 35% of overall course
Unit two. 2 hour exam. 70 marks. 35% of overall course
NEA. ( non-exam assessment) 30 % of overall course
