T Levels are rigorous qualifications with the equivalence of three A Levels both in terms of academic complexity, demands on time and assessment. Please see the table below to look at the equivalency of the T Level compared to A Levels. There are a number of features to the T Level assessment from the examination of units of study; a controlled assessment and work programme. We have broken this down into five main areas: Core Content: Under-pinning knowledge in business, marketing, sales and procurement. This will be assessed externally and graded A*-E. Examinations take place in the May/June and November examination window. Occupational Specialism: this be specific to marketing and will be assessed through a synoptic assessment. Students will receive grade Pass/Merit/Distinction. The specialism will be in marketing which will incorporate business content (Year 2) This will be examined in March of the second year. Industrial Placement: 315 hrs placement in one or two industry placements. Students complete a work project on the placement. This is assessed as a Pass or Fail. We intend that students will start a work place for one day a week from November – April and then attend full weeks after the examined content until the end of school in July. Students must complete the 315 hours or the qualification will not be awarded. This can mean working to make up time if a student has been absent. English, maths and Digital: Students must have completed L2 English and maths to pass the T Level. They can continue to study maths if they achieved a grade 3 at GCSE.
