Science & Technology
Our 21st-century laboratories and design and technology classrooms are the ideal setting to help our students grasp scientific thinking, broadening minds and enhancing their knowledge of how science and technology influence our everyday lives.
Inclusion
St Mary’s is proud of its inclusion work. At the very heart of this is our Student Centre. This is a vibrant and welcoming area for all students and includes: a number of furnished areas for one-to-one or small group work or mentoring; several private meeting rooms; a fully-equipped computer suite; soft seating area; games and literature library and a kitchen area. Our safeguarding and ‘Place To Be’ Counsellor also work in this area.
Performing Arts
St Mary’s can boast outstanding music and drama facilities. As well as two large, specialist music classrooms, students can access a state-of-the-art recording studio, music production facilities, four sound-proofed practice and recital rooms and two customised dance and drama studios.
Main Hall
The Main Hall is at the very heart of school life at St Mary’s. With a seating capacity of over 400, our Main Hall is used daily for Acts Of Worship and school assemblies, whilst it can be easily adapted to host school events such as theatre visits, school performances and productions, student conferences, public exams, staff training activities and parent / carer events. Extensive sound, lighting and multimedia facilities, main screen projection, theatre-style raked seating, adjustable staging and an additional food service and bar area all make this a highly versatile and well-utilised area of St Mary’s.
