Humanities

The Atrium is a highly impressive, modern, spacious learning environment. The Humanities Teaching and Learning Area is based here, along with a state of the art textiles room and 2 fully furnished science laboratories. A number of meeting and tutorial rooms can also be found. Central to the area, under the imposing glass roof, is an open plan, multi use space, that can be used as a student space or meeting or exhibition area.

Dining Hall

The Dining Hall is a multi use area for students and staff. With a seating capacity of over 250 places, the area is predominantly used for students to access a wide variety of break and lunch hot and cold meals and snacks. Its multi media facilities also allow the area to be used as an additional space for daily assemblies, and student or staff conferences and presentations. In addition the Dining Hall hosts the after school student Study Cafe, where students can access specialist individual or group support or assistance in the completion of class or homework tasks

Sports Hall

The Sports Hall is 600sq metres in size with a sprung floor and is regularly used for 5-a-side football, basketball, netball, volleyball, badminton and cricket net practice

St Mary’s is proud of its inclusion work. At the very heart of this is our Student Centre. This is a vibrant and welcoming area for all students, and includes a number of furnished areas for one to one or small group work or mentoring; several private meeting rooms; a fully suited computer room; soft seating area; games and literature library; and a kitchen area. Our safeguarding team and “Place To Be” Counsellor also work within this area.

Music & Drama

St Mary’s can boast outstanding music and drama facilities. As well as two large, specialist music classrooms, students can also access a state of the art recording studio; music production facilities; 4 sound proofed practice and recital rooms; and 2 customized dance / drama studios.

The Main Hall

The Main Hall is at the very heart of school life at St Mary’s. With a seating capacity of over 400, our Main Hall is used daily for Acts Of Worship and school assemblies, whilst it can be easily adapted to host school events such as theatre visits, school performances and productions, student conferences, public exams, staff training activities and parent / carer events. Extensive sound, lighting and multi media facilities, main screen projection, theatre style raked seating, adjustable staging and an additional food service and bar area all make this a highly versatile and well utilised area of St Mary’s.
