The clergy team work with the School to support the spiritual development and learning of community members, lead services and provide advice and guidance on matters relating to our Christian ethos and our work with the Church and parish. Members of the clergy regularly lead services and Acts of Worship that are held in the main hall and in St Mary’s Church. The Church is the location for some of our special services that take place throughout the school year. The School enjoys regular visits and strong support from senior clergy members including the Bishop of St Albans, the Bishop of Hertford and the Archdeacon of Hertford. Members of the clergy also visit classrooms to speak and debate with students providing specialist knowledge and experience in a variety of lessons including Philosophy and Ethics, RS, PSHCE, Citizenship and General Studies. Members of the clergy regularly visit the School to work with staff as well as to meet with parents/carers on open evenings and support special events. A member of the local clergy team is a member of the Board of St Mary’s CE High School Governors. The School has very close relationships with the Diocese Of St Albans and members of the local team of clergy who are led by the Vicar of St Mary the Virgin Church, Reverend Eugene Hanshaw.
