Free School Meals

Students who are eligible for free school meals have the daily amount credited to their school account before break time each day. In this way they can use their student card in the dining room and servery to purchase their food at break and /or lunch time.

Students cannot be identified as being in receipt of free school meals. Students should purchase a school meal or equivalent and will not be allowed to purchase confectionary using funds that are allocated for their meal.

Please note that the daily funding for the free school meal cannot be carried over the to next day. Student accounts are credited for the start of each school day.

Parents/carers have to apply through Hertfordshire County Council to get free school meals. The School Finance Office are always happy to help if a parent/carer has any queries regarding free school meals but they will be unable to apply on parents/carers behalf.

Over the last few years Hertfordshire County Council has provided a variety of ways for
parents/carers to apply for Free School Meals. The preferred method for applying for Free School Meals is through the online application form.
