Aspire Business & Enterprise Academy
St Mary’s has a number of Sixth Form Academy Programmes that provide opportunities for students to participate in high quality programmes and gain experience in a range of specific subjects to support career aspirations or leisure interests. Students in years 7 to 11 will have access to parts of the different Academy programmes to support their aspirations and career pathways as well as provide challenge, enrichment and extension activities. Aspire Business & Enterprise Academy As part of the enrichment programme, Sixth Form Aspire Business and Enterprise Academy students will coach and mentor younger students as part of their commitment to the Academy. Sixth Form students will need to be organised and balance their academic studies with their Business and Enterprise Academy skills, training and activities whilst maintaining the high standards expected of them. The Aspire Business & Enterprise Academy aims are to support students who wish to progress into a career focused on business and administration at the highest level and to provide life skills for students. The mission of the Aspire Business & Enterprise Academy is to build business leaders of the future. Sixth Form students have access to a range of Business, Computing, Programming and IT related courses and additional accreditations as well as nationally recognised enrichment activities such as Young Enterprise. Within the Aspire Business and Enterprise Academy we run our Opportunities Portfolio which provides students with a range of additional courses, qualifications and enrichment. Students gain valuable transferable skills for their next steps whether it is to university, apprenticeship or the working world. These opportunities help our students to stand out on any their applications and CV’s to put them one step ahead in the competitive world. Students in years 7 and 8 will benefit from different Aspire Business and Enterprise Academy activities through business workshops delivered by Sixth Form students, life skills training and other inclusive activities.
