KS4 Inclusion
The Key Stage 4 Curriculum provides opportunities for students to excel within specific skill areas. Some of the opportunities provided are related to vocational areas including college courses of Hair and Beauty, Construction and Car Mechanics. Students will follow one of three pathways at the end of Year 9 and discussions with the students, parents/carers and school staff wil inform which pathway best suits their needs. We aim to provide students with additional support in Literacy and Numeracy where required; along with coursework and classwork clarification and ‘catch-up’ time, identified within the timetable. The progression route can be through GCSE and BTEC Level 3. The programme will develop self-esteem and motivation to help raise awareness of student’s functional skills and so raise achievement. We may, where appropriate, offer the student extended work experience and BTec Work Skills, in order to provide greater opportunity and motivation. A quiet space for students who want to sit and play board games or use the Student Centre resources, LSA and computers available to help with homework tasks.
