Post 16 Courses at St Mary’s Sixth Form & Leadership Centre
We welcome applications for places in our sixth form from any student who wishes to continue their learning after Year 11. The admission criteria for the Sixth Form & Leadership Centre are published in our Sixth Form Admissions Policy which can be seen by clicking here. St Mary’s offers a range of courses that make up our progression pathways. There is a progression pathway to suit all learners dependent upon their aspirations and prior attainment. Academic Pathway – for students who have at least Eight GCSE at C grades or higher including English and Maths at Grade 5. Students on this route will study AS/A level qualifications plus an enrichment course provision including leadership qualifications. Talented Pathway – for students who have at least Five GCSE at C grades or higher, including English and/or Maths at Grade 4. Students on this route will study three Level 3 qualifications and secure Level 2 English and Maths Professional Pathway – for students who have at least Six GCSE’s at grade C or higher including English and Maths at Grade 5. Students on this route will study three AS/A level qualifications. There is also an enrichment course provision including leadership qualifications and internship placements. Access Pathway – for students who have achieved at least one GCSE at C grade or equivalent. Students on this route will study Level 2 qualifications within a personalised programme securing Level 2 English and Maths.
